1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the websites, applications, learning content and related services (collectively, the "Services") provided by Japanese Journey Pte. Ltd. ("Japanese Journey", "we", "us" or "our").

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use our Services. If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, Liechtenstein, Norway or Iceland, you must be at least 16 years old.

By creating an account or using our Services, you confirm that you meet the applicable minimum age requirement and are legally permitted to use the Services.

3. Your Account

You agree to provide accurate information, maintain the security of your account credentials and take responsibility for activities occurring under your account, except where caused by our failure to meet applicable legal obligations.

4. Our Services

Japanese Journey provides digital learning tools, educational content and features designed to support Japanese language learning.

We may update, improve, modify or discontinue certain features from time to time.

While we aim to provide accurate and helpful educational content, we do not guarantee any particular learning outcome, level of language proficiency or examination result.

The Services are intended to support your learning and should not be considered a guarantee of success in any language examination.

5. Free and Paid Services

Japanese Journey may offer both free features and paid memberships or subscriptions.

Paid features, pricing, billing periods and any applicable offers will be described at the point of purchase.

We reserve the right to change the availability or pricing of our paid Services, subject to applicable laws, contractual commitments and any required notices.

Any changes to an existing subscription will be handled according to the applicable payment provider's terms and relevant legal requirements.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

When you purchase a membership or subscription, your payment may be processed by Japanese Journey or through an authorized third-party payment platform, including an applicable app marketplace.

If your subscription renews automatically, the applicable renewal period, price and billing terms will be disclosed before purchase.

Unless you cancel before the applicable renewal deadline, an automatically renewing subscription may continue for successive billing periods in accordance with the terms presented at checkout.

You are responsible for managing and cancelling subscriptions through the platform or payment provider used for your purchase.

Subscriptions purchased through Apple's App Store are subject to Apple's applicable billing and subscription management processes.

Subscriptions purchased directly through Japanese Journey or another payment provider are subject to the cancellation process communicated at the point of purchase or in your account.

7. Cancellations and Refunds

You may cancel a subscription according to the cancellation process provided by the relevant payment platform.

Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, cancellation generally prevents future renewals and does not immediately terminate access for an already paid billing period.

Refund eligibility depends on the payment platform, the circumstances of the purchase and applicable consumer protection laws.

For purchases made through Apple's App Store, refund requests are handled through Apple's applicable refund procedures.

For purchases made directly through Japanese Journey, please contact support@japanesejourney.app for assistance.

Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, cancellation or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree to use our Services lawfully and responsibly.

You must not:

• Use our Services for unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purposes.

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems or information.

• Interfere with the operation, security or availability of our Services.

• Copy, distribute, resell or commercially exploit our content without permission, except as permitted by law.

• Use automated tools to scrape, extract or misuse substantial portions of our content or data without authorization.

• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person.

We may take reasonable measures, including restricting access, to prevent misuse and protect our Services and users.

9. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise indicated, Japanese Journey and its licensors own or hold the necessary rights to the content, designs, software, audio, graphics, text and other materials made available through our Services.

10. Feedback and Suggestions

We welcome feedback, suggestions and ideas for improving Japanese Journey.

If you voluntarily provide feedback, you grant us permission to use it to improve, develop and operate our Services without an obligation to compensate you.

This does not transfer ownership of your personal information or override the protections described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

Our Services may integrate with or link to third-party websites, payment platforms, application marketplaces or other services.

Your use of these third-party services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the independent operation or content of third-party services, except to the extent required by applicable law.

12. Service Availability

We strive to keep Japanese Journey accessible and functioning reliably.

However, the Services may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, third-party service interruptions or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Where practicable, we will take reasonable steps to address significant disruptions and communicate material service changes.

13. Account Suspension and Termination

You may stop using our Services at any time and request deletion of your account through the available account settings.

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated violations of these Terms, security concerns, unlawful activity or other legitimate operational reasons.

Where appropriate, we may provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

Termination of an account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by an external payment provider. You may need to cancel that subscription separately.

Our Services and educational materials are provided on an "as available" basis.

We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate, useful and reliable learning materials, but we do not guarantee that all content will be free from errors or suitable for every learner's individual needs.

We do not guarantee specific educational, professional or examination outcomes.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim warranties that are not expressly provided in these Terms.

Nothing in this section excludes warranties, guarantees or consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Japanese Journey Pte. Ltd. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from your use of the Services.

Our liability for claims relating to the Services will be limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability arising from fraud, willful misconduct or other legally non-excludable obligations.

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our Services, business practices or legal requirements.

If material changes affect your rights or obligations, we will take reasonable steps to notify you in advance where required.

The latest version will be made available through our Services, with the last-updated date displayed above.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply in your country of residence.

Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings in another jurisdiction.
